Michael Gannon on Ashtanga, Power Vinyasa and How to start Yoga

"I think the reason that most people get discouraged and want to give up is because they’re paying attention to too much outside. They’re more interested in what other people are doing in their yoga practice than what in their own. They’re looking in Instagram and Facebook and seeing what everybody else is doing, and it becomes this comparison about what they are not doing."

"If you can't do this today, maybe you’ll be able to do it tomorrow or next week or in 6 months. And the people that are in there beside you that can do it, they’re not doing it for the first time. They’ve been learning it slowly-slowly. They came from the same place."

Michael Gannon is the founder of Yogaloft school in Playa Del Carmen in Mexico. He’s spent over 10 years studying ashtanga vinyasa yoga in India with the guru Sri K. Pattabhi Jois.

He trained over 500 teachers in over 40 countries.

Michael is an author of the book Ashtanga Yoga Made Simple.

Michael has refined his experience with Ashtanga and Power Vinyasa in very unique way, and developed his own yoga style Gannon Power Vinyasa.
